Despite being nonfiction, this book reads more like a novel than a textbook, so if you are leery about the genre, don’t be. Grann’s intensive research is evident, but his writing style is engaging. He mostly follows the story of a particular Osage family, who are at the center of the entire case, as well as that of Hoover and the other investigators. Overall, this is a great book.
